Consultants often make the mistake of assuming that they know more about the client's needs than the client themselves. This is simply not true. Every client has unmet needs and it is up to the consultant to help them articulate these.

How can consultants do this? By listening and asking incisive questions at the right time. Listening wins, every time, over any other communication strategy you can employ. Find ways to listen to your client and your market.

Try it out! And get back to us on what you learnt. Keeping your ear to the ground works wonders. Leave a comment below to tell us what you learnt about your client and their needs when you were truly listening to them.
